2020 Blanc de Blanc | 3-Pack
Quartz Creek, Napa Valley
Ships the week of May 6th
After four years in the making and quietly aging in our cellar, the moment has arrived. Introducing the first Burgess sparkling wine: the 2020 Quartz Creek Blanc de Blanc.
Tasting Notes:
The Burgess Blanc de Blanc is made from 100% Chardonnay using the traditional méthode champenoise. The fruit is brought in early from the Quartz Creek Vineyard to capture acidity and freshness. With only 1 ½ grams of dosage, this wine is a dry sparkling wine with creaminess on the palate from 18 months of lees contact, balanced by a saline quality and a fresh lemon zest character.
Vineyard Source:
Quartz Creek: Originally purchased in 1979 by Tom Burgess, this 50-acre vineyard was known as Triere, a term for “select” or “choice.” Now called Quartz Creek, this is one of the most geologically diverse vineyards in the Burgess lineup. It sits on the famed western “benchland” of the Napa Valley, where soils benefit from alluvial fans sweeping down off the Mayacamas Mountain Range.
