Napa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon:
Current vintage: 2005

Our Cabernet is grown on the western side of Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. The hillside terroir nurtures very consistent and low yield vines that produce a signature Burgess wine each vintage. Our Cabernet has multiple layers of varietal character and a richness that only mountain fruit can supply. Because of low yields, a spicy aroma infused with berry tones predominates over a generous body and a lasting finish.
We age a portion of each vintage in our cellars and re-release the wine as a Library Selection.

2004 Merlot - Rated 90 in the Wine News, June/July, 2007.
Triere, our Oak Knoll AVA estate vineyard, is an ideal location for capturing the "black cherry" quality which signifies classic Merlot. The eucalyptus trees that border the vineyard impart a unique minty characteristic to this wine. The rich varietal flavors and subtle French oak make for a very pleasant finish and food-friendly style.

Syrah thrives in our estate vineyard on the eastern face of Howell Mountain. The terroir concentrates the varietal characteristics in part by restricting the yields. Burgess Syrah shows classic qualities of spice and blackberry along with complements of American and French oak imparting a classic mouth feel and long finish.
