Burgess Cellars 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, 750ml

1997 was a vintage of great quality and quantity.  A temperate summer with moderate temperatures allowed the fruit to reach optimal maturity with good hang time for the full development of character and flavors. The wine is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and 9% Merlot.  This, along with the stylistic fruit from the Burgess Estate vineyard, produced a very complex wine with a depth of character achieved from this mountain location. There is a spicy quality that combines with the French oak, creating an aroma and flavor that continues through many layers.
