History of and Tips for Library Wines

Library Releases...

“CHECK OUT” A LIBRARY WINE TODAY

EXPERIENCE A VINTAGE WINE FROM A SPECIAL YEAR.

There is something special about uncorking a bottle of vintage wine.  When aged properly, a fine Cabernet can take on a whole other life of aroma, depth and flavor.  Tom Burgess understood the appeal of vintage wines and so, in 1980, he began to cellar some of his Cabernet Sauvignon.  This is called the “Library Release” program.  We only release a Library wine when it has acquired at least 10 years of maturity, sometimes 15.

Before You Uncork that Aged Beauty…
Take some helpful advice from us so that you extract the cork properly from your vintage gem.  It’s best to use a two-pronged extractor (also called “the Butler’s Friend”) as all Burgess Cabernets have premium length corks.  If you choose to use a classic cork screw, make sure the auger is longer than the cork and actually punctures the bottom of it.
